LOWBEATS recently tested Ascendo's THE12 Be PRO (front/stage passive 12" coaxial loudspeakers) and THE18 SUB PRO PASSIVE (shallow passive 18" subwoofer) and gave them an OUTSTANDING review:
"I'm afraid to give an individual review here. It's like trying to rate individual Lego blocks. Especially since the Ascendo range is perfectly coordinated with each other thanks to the different sizes and price structures and can therefore be mixed. The loudspeaker concept of the coaxial 2-way construction as a point sound source with a linear phase progression and high efficiency combined with high load capacity is consistently successful. The balance of fine and coarse dynamics as well as sharp, well-detached imaging and differentiated separation are literally great cinema.
With film sound, it almost doesn't matter what's going on: the dialogue always remains crystal clear with the THE12 Be PRO PASSIVE On Wall. And depending on the program and filtering, the subwoofers can be crisp, gnarly or deep and soft. Blessed is the one who has these reserves. In any case, this passive speaker set fascinated me: whether with opera, jazz, hard rock or action cinema, whether quiet, loud or incredibly loud. Ascendo has rightly just won the “Best of CEDIA Award” for these products."
