What's on the Turntable

Last for the night, personally one of two that are their best. It's always a flip of the wig whether this is better than New Day Rising (and before I catch flak, Zen Arcade and Warehouse are close behind, Candy Apple Grey is overproduced sadly despite the quality of the songs)

Do the Du - Flip Yr Wig to the pop!

Today, the Grauniad had a story where someone was going around Brighton checking out 2nd hand records in typical peak middle class (UK) style. The comments section was fun and also enlightening. Apparently this goes for up to 700 quid! Not selling, but hey, wish I'd kept some more of the stuff from the time (but not Oasis, they were always shite and I trebled my money at the time):

Pulp - Different Class (12 cover version):

Same year, better pop and orchestral at times. If you ever heard the album by Cardinal you bought this on the day it came out. Sub-pop pop music:

Eric Matthews - It's Heavy In Here

Another classic, unfortunately they are not playing in Durban apparently, sadly, didn't know they were playing in SA. For those that saw them, he cannot dance, but the early music is fantastic:

Architecture and Morality- Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark

There are a few albums I have and enjoy that some may find beyond their limit, purely for their hedonistic and free content. Ag, why not, apologies to those who may find it too much.

Coil - Horse Rotorvator

So painful to resize this, but eventually got there, felt it's worthwhile sharing.

If you don't know him, give it a listen and then guess who Robert Plant is....

Nice album. And I feel your pain - trying to post some pictures, and just getting the message "too large for the server" with no option to select a smaller image. Extremely painful, and I am giving up...

Personally Alison Krauss’ weakest album.

Alison Krauss & Union Station: New Favorite
Alison Krauss & Union Station: paper airplane
Alison Krauss & Union Station: Live

Are all absolutely phenomenal

We took notice of this issue and it should not be a problem any more. See here.

Been going through a few Steve Albini engineered albums and this is one I haven't listened to for years, still excellent.

PJ Harvey - Rid of Me (original release sadly on Island who by that time had the crappies vinyl)

As expected the debut has much better vinyl quality if not the engineering offered by the late Mr Albini. No problems here, sounds as good as the day I bought it in Spillers, Cardiff on the way down to Newport for a jol

PJ Harvey - Dry (with Demos as a limited extra) Too Pure Records:
