What's on the Turntable

Going back to rural psychedelia (although they be Brizzle so nowhere near rural - Fishponds is not rural):

From this many genres and sub-genres were borne. Most importantly, it was a great album (and no, you should know this so no title - a clue though, good morning)

Oh, and just in case, to go with Good Morning Captain, I'll just drop Rusty in here, one of my all time favourites:

And even post rock and post hard-core can go country, Palace Brothers (Will Oldham) showed that from the start:

Madness, I say, but take comfort in it when you can (came with three free tea towels which are actually mini prints)

The Pale Saints - The Comforts of Madness

Chicago live at the Carnegie hall 1971, 4 album box set. Their first 4 albums were great before they succumbed to the ”let’s make more top 40 hits” very sad. This album has not been out the box for probably 30 years, the vinyl looks in great condition, but has convinced me I need a humminguru.IMG_0298.jpeg

Before the movies, before the Eno and Toto soundtrack (strange but true), the Spice Melange was already flowing in some parts. Inspired by the novel, released in 1979, and with a blurry picture from 'Solaris' as the cover, then mirror printed. Klaus Schulze came up with a soundtrack to a novel (and he'd already done a couple of volumes of 'Body Love').

He who controls the spice etc. (Until the totally on drugs novel where there are witches who have magical private parts, someone marries his sister but it's OK as he has already become sandtrout and thus it's platonic?) Anyway, the Spice Must Flow:
